Working with People who have Learning Disabilities ~ This course is aimed at making a positive impact on the quality of front line care and support delivered to people with learning disabilities. It includes positive communication, abuse, risk, care planning, relationships, healthy lifestyles, sexual expression, personal care, & medication. It can be delivered as a basic 1 day or as an more advanced 4 day course.
Sexuality & People with Learning Disabilities ~ It is important that the sexuality of people with learning disabilities is acknowledged, and care workers should help adults with learning disabilities express their sexuality and understand the boundaries within sexual matters. This course programme will help care workers to recognise their role in addressing the issues surrounding sexuality, and will benefit both care workers and service users.
Autism ~ Ideal training for social care workers who care for people with autistic spectrum disorders or new care staff wishing to work with the condition for the first time. It coverts theory into care practice, and enables skills and competence by care workers to be developed.
Aspergers Syndrome ~ This workshop will provide social care workers who work with this condition an insight into Aspergers, through an in-depth account of symptoms, diagnosis, background factors, prognosis and interventions. It includes associated psychiatric & social problems, and symptoms in adolescence.
