Understanding Epilepsy ~ This course provides an in-depth approach in understanding epilepsy by examining its causes and symptoms, and explains how to deal with an epileptic attack. Its covers types of seizures, common triggers, treatment and first aid, dealing with an epileptic attack, & controlling convulsive status epilepticus.

Understanding Diabetes ~ This one day course will provide social care staff with an understanding of diabetes & its effects on people, an understanding of the causes, signs and symptoms of diabetes, awareness of good care practices, and skills to develop strategies for assisting people and provide them with effective care.

Nursing Care ~ This course is designed to build on the existing knowledge of healthcare staff and improve standards of care. It will help develop a greater understanding optimum client care and an improvement in practical nursing skills. It includes stoma care, physical care of the dying, communication, prevention of pressure ulcers, catheters, promotion of continence, wound care & leg ulcers, constipation, strokes, diabetes & nutrition.

Vital Observations in Care ~ This course provides a basic knowledge of the anatomy & physiology of the heart and respiratory system, general assessment of clients, temperature, pulse & blood pressure readings, ability to recognise normal and abnormal observations & readings, recording & reporting assessments, assessing body waste & preventing cross infection.

Basic Wound Care ~ This half day practical course has been designed for those social care workers who may be involved in wound care. It offers practical and essential guidelines for managing wounds, from initial assessment, wound dressing and includes aseptic techniques. It explains how to care for people with long term wounds, and how to use infection control procedures appropriately.

PEG Feeding ~ Care of enteral feeding pumps, care of peg site, conditions where peg feeding may be indicated, ethical and legal issues surrounding peg feeding, management of peg problems, what is peg feeding and what are the indications for it.

Multiple Sclerosis ~ Aimed at social care workers this training course offers an insight to the condition and practical ways of working with and caring for people who suffer from MS. It includes what is MS, diagnosis, management of MS, caring for someone with MS, signs and symptoms.

Acquired Brain Injury ~ This 1 day course programme is aimed at those care & support workers who may already work with people who have an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or those staff who are new to working with the condition.

HIV & Aids Awareness ~ This HIV/AIDS awareness course is designed to give a thorough basis knowledge of the condition to healthcare staff. It is also of use to anyone who may be connected to an HIV positive person, or who is generally interested to know more about the latest advances in diagnosis and treatment. The course content is designed to be as non-technical as possible, to appeal to all groups of learners, but covers all aspects of the condition in an easily learnt format. The course is designed to encourage learners questioning, and will dispel the myths surrounding the condition.

Stroke Care ~ This training course covers the risk factors, symptoms & effects of stroke, and explains how care workers can help with rehabilitation. It includes what causes strokes, stroke treatment, communication, mobility, independence, & depression.

Palliative Care ~ This course has been designed for those care workers, who may have to be involved in palliative care. It includes what palliative care is, theories of death and dying, communication, dealing with symptoms, emotional care, and caring for the terminally ill person.
