Training for care staff who work with older people
Nutritional Care for Older People ~ This course aims to provide useful information and guidance for care workers about nutritional issues that are relevant and important to older people. It includes food and needs, presentation of meals, nutritional issues for older people, eating problems and nutritional recommendations & guidelines.
The Ageing Process ~ This course looks at and explains the main changes that occur in normal ageing & how these can affect older people’s health & functioning. It includes what ageing means, changes in the body & common problems, ageing and the senses, care that can be offered to minimise the effects of disabling changes.
Activities for Older People ~ The course covers, listing a range of activities that can be used in the activity programme, Outline the resources required to carry out a selected activity, Discuss the potential benefits of a selected activity, Discuss the precautions that need to be considered for a selected activity, Explain how a selected activity can be adapted to suit the abilities and complex needs of older people, List the relevant legislation and regulations that need to be considered when planning and carrying out a selected activity.
Caring for People in Residential Homes ~ This two day course has been designed to promote good care practices in care environments. It covers principles of care, needs of the client group, dealing with challenging behaviour, recording & reporting skills, care planning, risk assessment and good communication techniques.
