Essential training in safe moving & handling of people

People Handling AwarenessTo increase understanding of basic anatomy, biomechanics of the spine, back care, principles of moving & handling, assessing risk, how to use handling aids and hoists, safe moving & handling techniques, participation in practical sessions.

People Mechanical Lifting Equipment Hoist TrainingThis half day practical course is aimed at those social care workers who require thorough training in the use of any equipment they will be using with clients in their care. These care workers will be given the opportunity to learn about and try out the equipment before using it to move and handle a person. They will have the opportunity to practice on other colleagues and then be supervised whilst using it for the first time with a client. Training will include teaching staff the importance of documenting what method of moving and handling a person is to be used by the team as well as the exact type of equipment, for example, the name of the hoist and the size of the sling.

Train the Trainer People HandlingThis two day course is designed for those healthcare workers that have the responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of carers such as managers, supervisors, senior care staff who are suitably competent to undertake and then deliver further training.  Course Objective - To competently train a member of your staff to train others in the skills and knowledge of Safer People Handling and to conduct Manual Handling Risk Assessments. Includes - Qualities required to be an effective instructor, To go through how people learn, How to aid learning, To be able to structure a group training session - including development & consolidation, Effective teaching skills, Practical session observing & demonstrating techniques for the Safer Moving & Handling of clients, Statistics, Risk assessments, Legislation, regulations & guidelines, Anatomy & physiology, The muscular system, The nervous system, Exercise, Causes of back pain, Unacceptable techniques.

Train the Trainer People Handling UpdateThis one day refresher course is for those that have previously undertaken an instructors course & need to update their own knowledge & techniques in order to continue teaching their own staff.   Practical session observing & demonstrating techniques for the Safer Moving & Handling of clients.
